Title: Above 45°C...
Post by: Rhoditis on October 12, 2017, 01:05:26 PM
Hello,

I am very interested in the Soliwatch 10 device. I am reading about the usage limits. If you put it in a potted plant and the sun hits it, the temperature might go higher than the 45°C. What would be the voltage reading in that case ? Does it drop to 0v ?

Many thanks.

Hi Rhoditis,

Good question. We have tested our product for accuracy up to 45°C. Above the tested temperature range accuracy will be less than specified in datasheet.  We also had in mind our polymer enclosure which is good up to 100°C

So yes, you can use it in conditions above 45°C but not exceed 100°C as it will start to melt plastic enclosure.
Above 45°C sensor will be less accurate but it will not drop to zero. Reading will stay somewhere close to reading in lower temperature.

Thanks

Many thanks for the prompt reply.

It replies exactly my question.
I am supporting the product on Indiegogo. I wish you the very best for it.
